![]() I have a wide variety of tools, and can only explain to the doctor that the pain from sore arch that has been cut or scraped is better than constant itching! I have been to a podiatrist twice, he prescribed a numbing ointment and that has worked to relieve the itching some, but like others, it is a bandaid and is not getting to the cause of the uncontrollable itching. I have seen three dermatologists and have had two biopsies of the tissue of the arch-very painful! There is No fungus, but I have used a knife and a callous contraption to shave off the hardened area that continues to itch uncontrollably. My general doctor told me he thought it may be stress and prescribed topical ointments and steriods. I have lived with itching on the arch of my right foot for almost ten years. I was thinking of having a biopsy also but based on your feedback, the pain involved and no results from it, I think I will skip that step at this point! Very perplexed but desperate for a diagnosis. I also believe I read it helped for patients suffering from Eczema which I'm not yet convinced that is what is causing my problem. Supposed to help provide some relief but at $65 for a 10 ml bottle, I just haven't been able to part with $65 for something that could potentially help at this point. In some other reason, I found: doTERRA Immortelle 10 ml - oil which you can buy on Amazon. I will let you know if my TENS machine provides any relief! ![]() About a month ago I started to feel an itch in the left foot of my arch and sure enough now starting to have the same issue on my left foot but so far it has not progressed to the level that I have been dealing with in my right foot. I have been trying to research this myself for months and so relieved to find this forum as I thought I was all alone with this issue. Maybe it has to do w/ the circulation as you lay with your legs elevated? The itching is definitely worse at nighttime which is odd. The only one that provided some relief was the steroid cream but it never went away. I'm a 43 yr old female and now just developing eczema? He was confident with the many creams he prescribed, he was sure it would go away. My dermatologist chaulked it up to Eczema which really surprised me because I have never had eczema before in my life. I agree with everyone who has posted that there is something else causing this. I think it's from all the scratching and not so much in need of hydration. I have not started using Jacoba oil along w/ Petroleum Jelly trying to get the skin rehydrated because it has been hard and dry. I am going to try it on my foot tonight to see if I get any relief. I have TENS unit which is for pain relief EMS Muscle Stimulation machine. I think the theory of a nerve problem might not be too far off base! I can even feel the tingling itch on the inside of my foot. Nothing helped! The deep intense itching on the right arch of my foot was keeping me up all night! I couldn't relieve the itch and like everyone is describing it feels as though it's coming from within.
